Ok - starter for ten - best Dylan album…

We’ve got a lovely new ye olde record player set up!

Now just trying to replace the CDs for good old vinyl (Lord alone knows where they have all gone).

So - for a birthday present - I wanted to start getting the Dylan collection back (between us we had most). Can’t decide where to start…

Blood on the Tracks would be my top choice. The first birthday present I ever bought for DH was the boxed set of Biograph on vinyl. It's got a few of my absolute favourites - Positively 4th St, (that's not on anything else apart from as a single) and Abandoned Love. (We've been married 27 years 😁) DH says John Wesley Harding would be his favourite. After those, I think Desire and Bob Dylan Freewheelin' would be next on my list.

Oh my god - my first serious bf put that on a mix tape for me… he was an utter tit but still…

Desire - his voice is at its best and the songs are poetry.

murasaki I didn't mean 'obvious' in a music snob kind of way!! I just meant those two albums are so ridiculously good that they'd have to be the go-to. Sorry if it came across wrong.

Those two would be my first choices too, though I have a real soft spot for New Morning as well. The Rolling Thunder bootleg is the one I currently cannot. stop. listening. to.
