Single Parent Rights. In the news and on the ground. (p.s. I am not a journo)

Hello there everyone.
Well, it is no news and nothing new for single parents and single mothers in particular.

Guardian headline today

www.theguardian.com/business/2022/jul/04/half-of-all-children-in-lone-parent-families-are-in-relative-poverty

Mean income is btw - 40 K a year.
so half of that is 20K

My intention with this thread is to support the Single Parent Rights organisation - (which I have only just found out about today) - which advocates for Single Parents to be accorded Protected Status under the Equality and Diversity Act 2010.

Documents that 80 per cent of us have been discrminated against at work/with societal structures etc.

Makes sense to campaign on this and talk about it which is why I've put this in chat.

Here is the link:

Well known single mothers in particular get blamed for a lot of society's misdemeanours. Time this changed.

I'm off to sign.

P.S. I am NOT a journo or a troll so please don't start with that one!

I’m not a single mum but I get so angry on behalf of my single mum friends that are treated like absolute shit by their useless exes. It starts with reforming toothless CMS in my opinion.
