What bag and shoes for year 7 ?

My eldest DC is off to secondary in September- can anyone share what sort of styles shoes and bags are typical at this age ?
Girls round here seem to use Tote bags rather than backpacks so maybe that is easy enough - don't get close enough to see exact styles or what shoe styles are preferred !
Obviously it shouldn't really matter too much at this age but it's all about fitting in ..

Dd is in year 8, but all the girls seem to wear black ballet flats ( which I hate, but she won't wear anything but these..)
Then they all have the large black handbags. She took a back back initially ( for about 2 days) but then said she felt silly so went with the handbag like everyone else!

I think it's regional - most year 7 where I am have a backpack - vans Nike Adidas & some girls have fjallraven. I've not seen any with a large handbag.

Shoes they all wear black Nike AF1, black leather vans or converse, sometimes brogues or Doc Martens.
