I've just got up & made myself a brew. The girls had a late night so they're still sleeping.

The window and door are open so I can hear the birds outside, it's lovely and quiet.

Today I need to iron, finish painting the story props for the coming week, and make playdough.

Dd1 has revision for her last three mock exams to do, and dd2 has homework she needs help with so they'll probably both come and sit, at the table, with me.

If everything gets done, there's a little bit of prep I need to do for Rainbows and Guides this Tuesday.

We're having roast chicken for tea, with roast spuds and veg. Probably fruit and cream or ice cream for afters.

What about all of you? 🙂

Sat having a cup of tea in bed with DD3 who is poorly watching mickey mousss clubhouse. DH is downstairs doing the washing up.

Supposed to be heading to Norfolk for a holiday today but with DD running a temp that's been called off. Trying to see the brightside with having a bonus day at home (after a busy month of weekends).

Have an Eggs Royale pre ordered for brunch and then will potter around doing stuff in-between doses of calpol and the tennis.

stayathomegardener · 03/07/2022 09:16

I'm waiting for the barn owl group to arrive so we can check the nest box and ring any babies 🤞

MeridasMum · 03/07/2022 09:17

I'm helping my eldest daughter move out today.

She has saved for a few years and bought herself a beautiful flat not too far away. I am overjoyed for her and so proud.

But my heart is breaking that it's over so soon. I'm not ready. But she is.

Smile and carry on...

I’m on holiday in Kefalonia, heading off to the beach now, supper in a fish taverna (think it’s sells fish, rather than run by fish 🤔), lazy Sunday!

houseargh · 03/07/2022 09:22

Flying home from my first work trip away post baby. The afternoon will be spent hanging out with DD and MIL, probably in a playground, while DH has a well deserved rest. I think I'll go to bed at the same time she does tbh because the slightly more civilised start times this week were more than cancelled out by long days and late nights spent putting the world to rights with colleagues, some of whom I was seeing for the first time in a couple of years

Crunchymum · 03/07/2022 09:22

Busy one today.

School park run at 11. Then a quick picnic and off to a local street festival this afternoon.

Easy dinner (chilli, rice and nachos) and probably a film later.

ilovebagpuss · 03/07/2022 09:22

Just sitting in bed with a coffee. Dd's asleep eldest full of a non covid cold so she is miserable. Just ironing and pottering to do here might try and drag youngest for a walk.
Salmon and my DF's new potatoes for dinner with steamed veg.
Off on holiday in a couple of weeks so starting to put clothes piles together and tick things off lists!

Cocolapew · 03/07/2022 09:23

I'm in bed with a wisdom infection, lockjaw and covide.
DH is making me egg in a cup a soldiers that I can squish into my pathetic attempt to open my mouth.
I have Magic Soul on and a Harlan Coben book to keep me going.

JMAngel1 · 03/07/2022 09:25

Had my first lie in in months! Just got up - having lovely cup of tea outside in the garden listening to the birds. Reading a comforting sweet book.
DH is ruining the vibe watching Stranger Things on the big tv insisting on having the curtains closed - aaaargh!
DDs still asleep - both had friends sleepover Friday night so they are exhausted.
Plan is homework this morning/laundry/cleaning/showers then meeting a family to walk down to local summer fair after lunch. Will need my energy! The place is usually all consuming.
Then a roast ham dinner later, ironing - the usual
Sunday night prep.
First at home chill day on a Sunday for ages so looking forward to it.

JMAngel1 · 03/07/2022 09:26

@Cocolapew
Feel better soon but a day in bed sounds like bliss! Love Harlan Coben.

EBathory · 03/07/2022 09:27

Continuing my slow approach to decorating the kitchen, I can't bear the disruption of pulling everything out at once and doing it all in a weekend, so I do it wall by wall over a month of weekends, that way I still get downtime each week

devildeepbluesea · 03/07/2022 09:29

Just having a coffee after walking the dog and yoga.
Pop round to DF’s in a bit to sort out his tech requirements, then over to DSis for a boozy Sunday lunch. DD due back from her rugby match just in time for lunch.

abigailsnan · 03/07/2022 09:31

I'm just back from my first holiday in 3 yrs with my DD we always had a week away together every year in Majorca pre Covid so this holiday was well over due Adults only so was just bliss.
Just now I am finishing all my holiday washing and putting back in suitcase for my next trip with my friend.

Cocolapew · 03/07/2022 09:36

Thanks @JMAngel1 🙂

TheScenicWay · 03/07/2022 09:39

Just getting up as I had disturbed sleep. Having a coffee then putting some laundry in and doing some quick tidying and cleaning the fridge.
Prepping food for dinner then going to meet a friend for a walk and coffee.
Dcs are doing homework and generally getting things ready for tomorrow and chilling out.
Dinner is with mother in law who is coming over later and we're having some roast chicken with potatoes and veg too. I'm not sure about dessert yet!
After dinner, dc and I are watching Stranger Things.

MrsAliceRichards · 03/07/2022 09:40

Stuck lying in bed on day five of covid. I've been banished by the one dd who is still negative. Dh caught it first and was really sick, borderline ambulance. He dodged it the first time we had it. Dd1 and myself are both absolutely fine but dd2 has banished us....she's waiting on me hand and foot so I can't complain too much and I'm always saying I'd love a weekend doing nothing.....

Simonjt · 03/07/2022 09:41

We have picnic in the park today with adoption group, so I’ve spent the morning making roti, samosa and raita. I’ve just got to finish the bhindi and everything will be ready.

This evening mum is coming to stay for a few days, so we’re driving halfway to pick her up and having our tea at a pub on the way back, there are a few with a few play areas so I can pretend I’ll be able to eat in peace, we all know it will be a constant “dad watch this”.

The spare room is a mess, so I need to sort that at some point, I think theres still a bed under all the clean washing.

QueSyrahSyrah · 03/07/2022 09:42

Lazy morning still in bed. DH watching YouTube videos and I'm scrolling MN.

Out in a bit to go walk and fetch the car from where we left it at a boozy BBQ last night then maybe reading in the garden for the afternoon.

Potential for another (less boozy) BBQ for dinner.

ColourfulOnesie · 03/07/2022 09:46

Just having breakfast with the smallest 2 DC

DP is having his lie in today, eldest DS stayed at his friends last night and is going to the cinema later so I’ll be ferrying him around, eldest DD is still in bed but has some super duper important art piece to work on today (it’s not for school or anything, she’s only 10 but she’s been working on it for a while bless her)

Raining here so our plans to teach DS2 to ride his bike sans stabilisers are postponed, so just a chilled one really
Going to take a friend a housewarming present later and have a nosy round

Lasagna for tea and ice cream sundaes are obligatory on a Sunday here

TenoringBehind · 03/07/2022 09:48

Have had a lazy morning so far reading in bed with several cups of coffee.

to follow:
Bell ringing
walk with friend
ironing school uniform for the last time until September
making house presentable for plumber coming tomorrow
making meringues
watching another couple of episodes of Sherwood

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 03/07/2022 10:10

I love these threads!
We were supposed to be going to see
DP’s brother and family, which would have been lovely, but our car is gravely ill in hospital and we couldn’t face 5 hours on the motorway in the jerky, rattley 2-door loan car from the garage.
Instead, we’ll have a lazy day at home.
DD is currently lying in the hall, watching nonsense on her tablet. I’m on the sofa, reading and nursing what feels like an endless cold. Day 10 and no sign of buggering off.
Need to do some washing and put a chain on the front door to stop DD’s escape attempts.
Probably vegan sausages, baked potatoes and veg for lunch. Maybe a trip to a farm this afternoon. Stranger Things once DD’s in bed.

Adversity · 03/07/2022 10:47

Sorting out laundry.
Bike ride with a stop at a cafe en route, my new favourite place along the canal.
Dinner with DS and his GF in the evening pref sat outside
Looking for a new box set to watch this evening.

StarlessSea123 · 03/07/2022 15:35

Was up early with the baby, washed and sterilised bottles whilst she played on her mat, then DH made bacon butties for lunch. Some family members who haven’t seen our baby yet are coming to visit later this evening so it’ll be nice to catch up with them.
