How many bags of crisps??

I know it's possibly how long is a piece of string but how many large packs of crisps would you estimate for 90 11 year olds. It's for a school party and they hopefully should have eaten before they arrive. Thanks

Could you not do individual bags and have 1 each? Would be easier I think.

I agree that it's easier to do individual bags. If you do do that, then unless you're going to police it quite closely, I'd have a few spare as some will grab more than one, possibly out of greed, possibly out of malice, possibly out of silliness. The other advantage of individual bags is that they're less likely to grab handfuls of crisps to throw at each other or in the air.

I've been asked to get the big bags of things like onion rings, salt and vinegar twists etc. my thought was working out 25g x 90 kids but then that seems excessive!

You have to factor in that it is not all going to get eaten, quite a lot will end up on the floor.

Also having individual bags means there is much less risk of cross contamination for those with allergies

Last year they had individual bags and they were generally opened and then left pretty much full up. I just don't want to cause too much wastage

We used to give the kids a raffle tickets when they arrived that they could swap for a packet or crisps and a carton of juice. Always seemed to work OK.

I would maybe not bother then or have a small tuck shop just in case anyone is hungry.

15 bags if you're getting the 335g size. But only open them as you need them.

Autienotnaughtie · 02/07/2022 23:37

I'd say 20 bags.

MuddlingThroughLifeLittleByLittle · 03/07/2022 00:15

Im useless at this. For a party of 15 kids i got 5 bags. As kept thinking it wouldn't be enough. Equivalent of 3.5 got wasted!

But id still get 20 and then unopened donate to food bank

converseandjeans · 03/07/2022 00:37

I would also say individual bags. More hygienic.

I wouldn't bother with crisps at all if you don't want food waste.

I'd get 30 bags.
