Why can't my 14yo buy fake lashes?

DD1 went to Superdrug this morning to buy some fake lashes and they refused to sell them to her, said she was too young and asked for ID. She didn't have any so left them but I had no idea why she couldn't buy them. Is this a new thing?

I know in Ireland there is age restrictions around glue, would that be it?

Idontevenknow · 02/07/2022 17:01

Could it be the glue?

RagzRebooted · 02/07/2022 17:02

Is it possible the glue in them? Solvent abuse. Would be ridiculous obviously as you don't get much and it would be an expensive way to buy it! DS was refused wd40 in poundland, he wanted it for his bike I think but they would not sell it to him. Fair enough.

Glue

Rockbird · 02/07/2022 17:09

I guess it must be as you've all said the same thing but honestly! You wouldn't get enough glue to tell a gnat in those things Grin

It's the glue. You have to be 16 I think.

Glue has an age restriction.
