I'm about to head to the shops, we've in laws coming later today for a little birthday party, 7 adults and 5 kids. Tbh I'm on my period and not in the mood to host. Anyway I wanted to make a bog pot/plate of something to go along side some finger foods and other bits but what?

I don't want to do chilli or spag bol or curry

Just go with chilli and toppings. Beef with red kidney beans or mixed bean if there's vegans, use the chilli spice blend for ease, serve with rice, grated cheese, sour cream and if you feel like it homemade guacamole (see Jamie Oliver's recipe) plus tortilla chips. I often do it for 20+ people, very easy

I'd go with meatball subs, lamb kofta, chicken stroganoff, lasagne, macaroni and cheese, honey chilli chicken bites, kebabs, quiche, prawn gumbo, stir fry or pad Thai. Best of luck catering for the family is tough

A big simple pasta salad, no cooking required

Pasta will be a bit crunchy? 😜

Jamie Oliver does a great slow cooked lamb. Bit of prep, foil, leave in oven for 4 hours!
