Where to buy good quality sofas

We are currently extending our house and need an extra large sofa to go in the extension. I am being bombarded with adverts from companies like Swoon Editions and Arlo & Jacob but their trust pilot reviews are quite poor, particularly in relation to quality. I know people are more likely to leave a poor review because they are annoyed but I'm still worried about spending up to £3k on something that turns out to be a load of rubbish.

Can you recommend a company that sells modern, attractive and, most importantly, good quality sofas?

Mine are Sofaitalia and have lasted 12 years and still look good. Bought through a local independent.

Do NOT buy from SCS. The sofa you try in the showroom isn’t the same as what gets delivered, there’s shoddy workmanship, and when you have evidence it’s been made incorrectly and but are poking out, they tell you that ‘comfort is subjective’.
Hope you find something soon!

That's where mines from. Looks lovely aside the cushions not sitting flush against each other, but the wood on the arm has split in two although the material around it is still intact. I had my arm on it and adjusted my position and it went. To look at it you can't tell unless you physically push the material down and then you can see where the wood has separated. You can also obviously tell when sitting on the settee as there's no particular support on that arm. Annoying thing is of course it happened after the warrant ran out. Yes it wasn't the most expensive sofa but still at a £1000 you'd expect slightly better quality

Pick your style, your own fabric and your own measurements - made to order.

we bought ours from them 4yrs ago and still look new. One small issue with a foot, and they sent someone out very quickly to repair. Great sofa, great service, small independent firm.

Never heard of Tetrad but their stuff looks great!

Loaf and Sofa.com sound like good bets

Tetrad.

Mine is 25 years old, still looks current and only now does it need replacing.
I had another one that was too big to fit into our farmhouse when we moved. I was gutted.
They are amazing quality.

Another vote for loaf! Do go and sit on them though, glad we did as this led to us choosing the option for longer legs.

We have a leather suite from DFS. It's coming up for 10 years since we bought it.
It is still in very good condition. Has seen 5 grandchildren and 4 dogs sit or jump on it.
Ok it was nearly £4000 even with their forever sales.
