Woo things in modern places

I was in bed in the early hours of this morning. I couldnt sleep so I was messing about on my phone. Suddenly my glass of water fell on the floor, from my bedside table, and water went everywhere. I wasn't moving or actually near the glass at the time. It did wig me out for a few seconds but then I was more annoyed about getting out of bed to dry up the water.

I was telling DD about it this morning and joking it was a ghost. She said it couldn't be a ghost as our house isn't old. It's 30 years old so feasibly people could have died there. This made me wonder if anyone had any woo stories in new houses or not traditionally scary places.

Your house was probably built on top of a pet cemetery.

Heard someone say my newborn's name clear as day in my new build house
My mother had just died a few days earlier so I'm sure it was some stress thing

Have you seen ghosts, the tv show? It could be that an early homo erectus died in that very spot, perhaps of dehydration, and your lovely, easily obtained glass of water irritated him.

And of course, poltergeists attach themselves to people not places
Not that I believe in any of that

We live in a caravan as we have a self build project.

Last year I woke in the night to see the weirdest creature ever. It was a being but I got the impression it had never been human. I could see through it in places and it gave off the most awful vibe. I was definitely awake and I woke DH up and he saw it as it faded to nothingness. We both nearly shat ourselves.

Caravan on farmland only.

My dd swears blind that she saw the ghost of an old lady sitting on the bed in the guest room of my dm’s modern (ish) apartment in Florida. She tried to wake her boyfriend but the figure disappeared before she could rouse him.

I'm not woo at all but there's a fascinating channel on You Tube called Really Haunted where guy called Lee videos his haunted house (he uses something called a Kinect which I think is part of an Xbox or something that identifies human shapes.. very very weird and spooky). There's orbs and portals, black shapes and god knows what.

Anyway his house is clearly almost brand new.

My sister's new build house (about a decade ago)- the front door would open and when you went to close it, even though you could have sworn you'd already locked it, sometimes the door to the room you'd just left would bang shut behind you. Shit me up several times! Found out later that an old military hospital had been demolished to build those houses and that's why all the roads were named after famous battles.

We were lived abroad when my children were tiny, in a brand new apartment block. We were the first people to live in our apartment. I used the see “shadow people” out of the corners of my eyes, moving across the walls and ceiling, and one night the door of an empty bathroom locked itself from the inside. The place had a nice vibe though and I wasn’t scared.

Usually think this is mumbo jumbo...then had a weird experience in a house.

Was in a rental (renting off FIL temporarily) during a time our house was being renovated..Felt uneasy in the house..had nightmares of the hallway, something sinister but nothing particular/no image..like I felt absolutely terrified of the hallway when I used to wake up from them.

DH used to have night terrors in same house hallucinating/dreaming of a man at the window, he used to wake up and shout etc etc

We didn't talk much about all this when we were in the house. Then about 6 months after we moved out, we were discussing how creepy the place was, and my DH then disclosed that a young man died in the house (?OD) years ago and in a seperate incident a young man died outside the house (?suspicious circumstances)

So yea I dont scoff at these stories anymore!!

Meant to add...this was a new ish modern house...
