Maybe a family voucher for a local attraction

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 01/07/2022 15:22

I just won a bottle of gin. I don't like gin...

I got a bottle of wine in the tombola. DD was not impressed with either prize.

Some more family friendly prizes would be nice.

Oakdog · 01/07/2022 15:23

Vouchers for local attractions, especially good for the summer holidays.

scissorsandsellotape · 01/07/2022 15:23

What sort of thing are family friendly though??

Spa or massage voucher
Bubbly
Food hamper
Cinema tickets
Theatre tickets

ColourfulOnesie · 01/07/2022 15:27

Wow the raffles on here sound much more upmarket than the ones at our school, here you win things like bubble bath and boxes of maltesers

clary · 01/07/2022 15:28

I used to love the colour-themed hampers that would be put together from kids' donations. We won a red one one year and it had things like red Pringles, kitkats, bottle of red wine, box of tea bags, christmassy bathbomb...it was fun going through it and seeing what we got! Anything we really couldn't use (not much tbh) I gave to the foodbank.

Things I have won in a raffle:
Spa day voucher - brilliant
TV - brilliant
Various hampers - there is an initial wow factor depending on the size and decoration but soon becomes clear it’s a bunch of donated regifted items that you are now stuck with
Voucher for a photo shoot - rubbish, the kind of thing that is always being given away and you get the hard sell to buy pictures at the end

Other things I have seen - cakes, soft play voucher, zoo voucher, hire of a beach hut, restaurant voucher, theme park entry….

MammaWeasel · 01/07/2022 15:36

I live a hamper! Food, confectionary or smelliest, I don't care!

MammaWeasel · 01/07/2022 15:36

MintyGreenDreams · 01/07/2022 15:41

Moet

DiamanteDelia · 01/07/2022 15:43

One thing I don’t want is a voucher for one session doing something that needs lots of sessions eg tennis lesson. It’s not a prize, it’s just a marketing opportunity.

I like nice food and drink, spa voucher (but only if it covers everything).

Nice alcohol or posh chocs always a winner with me

Ginisatonic · 01/07/2022 15:53

One family used to donate a week in their holiday home in Spain!
Meanwhile back in the real world, voucher for a family swim, soft play, National Trust day, nice chocolates, cool bag and M and S voucher for picnic items.

SirenSays · 01/07/2022 15:54

I'd prefer a box of maltesers to vouchers or alcohol.

MarvelMrs · 01/07/2022 15:54

Wine especially sparkling
Decent chocolates - not dairy milk or ordinary stuff
Bath bombs
Decent shower gel/bubble bath
Cinema vouchers
Local cafe vouchers
Book vouchers

scissorsandsellotape · 01/07/2022 15:54

This is all super helpful thanks

M&S voucher

DiamondBright · 01/07/2022 15:55

Fewer but better prizes, I usually win stuff I end up regifting back to another raffle, I really don't want wine that's been kicking around someone's house for an unknown amount of time, same for food stuff that's come out of the back of someone's cupboard.

A hamper from a local farm shop
A voucher for a local bakery, cheese shop etc.
A voucher for a local restaurant or cafe
Tickets for entry to a local event

Businesses will often sell you something like this at a discount because it's good advertising and/or the winner will spend more. Our local butcher gave a voucher to the school autumn fayre raffle one year, to be redeemed in December, with lots of their Christmas order forms on the raffle table and a sign up reminding people to order early.

Would people like to win a week in a holiday home in France even if they had to pay to get there themselves, they could go on a ferry and take car or or fly?

Cinema tickets
Pizzaria vouchers
Restaurant voucher
Picnic hamper of lovely goodies. Pate, Cheeses, Wine, Pringles, tin of ham etc.
