Anyone been to the Italian Lakes in July?

We're off to the Italian Lakes tomorrow and I've packed my usual holiday wardrobe of little, cotton shift dresses for day and slightly more glamorous maxi dresses for the evening. I don't deal well with heat so try to keep as cool as possible! But I'm now hearing that the average temp is only in the low to mid 20s during the day, and considerably cooler in the evenings.

Do I need to re-think and pack some jeans and light weight knits, too?

We’re at Lake Garda at the moment and there’s people still swimming in the lake at 10/11pm at night. I definitely wouldn’t be wearing jeans it’s been very warm!

Not sure on the other lakes though.

I have spent lots of time in Lake Como in the summer and it can be quite unpredictable and have frequent thunderstorms so would pack for any eventuality!

We're staying on Lake Annone, not sure if there's swimming there? I hate having to pack for a variety of weather, it messes with my capsule wardrobe packing!

The frequent rainstorms are welcomed by my family - they keep it cool. They're usually over within a couple of hours though - we don't pack for the rain, we just go up to the room and sit on the balcony and watch the views. The weather is so changeable, and it changes very quickly.

Oh there will be swimming in the lake. I think you should pack a cossie.

We're just back from Lake Garda where it was unusually hot, 33 degrees most days. I ended up buying some loose cotton dresses while I was there because it was so humid too. The evenings were very warm too. Looks like its going to be about 29 degrees for the next couple of weeks.

We absolutely baked on Lake Garda a couple weeks ago, I didn't even wear my long maxi dresses, they stuck to my legs.

I pretty much wore short play suits and linen shirt dresses.

I wouldn't pack jeans!

Weather can be very changeable. I've been to Como, Garda and Maggiore in the summer and it's normally hot but with frequent thunderstorms. I don't think you'll need jeans, but pack a waterproof, or jacket for the evenings.

Hot and humid, with storms. Waterproof and umbrella just in case, large hat and sunscreen with light layers daytime.
