Does your DH cook & if so what’s your favourite dish that he makes?

DH is a very good cook & baker, although he doesn’t have much time for either. One of my favourite things is the first dish he ever made for me, which is Thai chicken curry with noodles from “ Cooking for Blokes”. I also love his chocolate chilli ( sadly we lost the recipe), vegetable stew with Double Gloucester dumplings, sausage pasta & his pizzas. The bases are made with natural yogurt & taste really good.

Anyone around?

My DH is the superior cook in our house and most things he makes are delicious. If I was forced to choose I'd go for either his seafood paella or duck massaman curry. Now I'm hungry!

Mine makes a great (and better than me) toad in the hole, Jambalaya and biryani and they are delicious.

Husband way better cook than me and does all the cooking. Pad Thai, curries, tapas. All fabulous.

BackToTheTop · 01/07/2022 07:46

He makes a mean curry and also a spicy lamb wrap which is bloody lovely. Oh and his roast dinners are amazing!

My absolute favourite is his lemon meringue pie

KitKattaktik · 01/07/2022 07:47

He makes a cracking Chinese meal from scratch - chicken with cashew nuts, sesame lamb, sweet and sour prawn balls, pork in plum sauce, special fried rice, crispy seaweed. I don't eat much that day in anticipation!

😋

My DH is the better cook by miles but he very rarely cooks. I'm a terrible cook and do all the day to day boring cooking so the kids are always really excited when DH cooks. Probably his pizzas are the best thing as that tends to be the treat meal for the kids. He makes different dough with fancy crusts and things, and a really nice base sauce. (I do all the washing up so am less keen on DH cooking extravaganzas as he uses every pan)

ScarlettOHaraHamiltonKennedyButler · 01/07/2022 07:52

DH does pretty much all of our cooking and is really good at it. I can 'make' freezer food and a simple mac and cheese but anything else has to be DH.

My favourite thing he makes is probably his vegetable curry.

NightmareSlashDelightful · 01/07/2022 07:54

Mine does 50% of the cooking and I wish it was 100% because he’s so much better than me. He has the light touch with eggs of any kind and he makes lovely bread.

ElizabethCaroline · 01/07/2022 07:54

He's the main cook. I love his Risotto with chorizo and mushroom.

Fupoffyagrasshole · 01/07/2022 07:57

Mine does all the cooking pretty much (I make Mac and cheese for us once in a while hahah) but everything else is pretty much him

he does amazing veggie Indian curries - nom

amazing chili

great pasta dishes

and have a Mexican night as well most weekends

also you should see the stuff he makes for our 1 year old 😂😂 so fancy

she had little quesadillas the other night with some dips on the side with Padron peppers 😂😂

DH has gone from being able to do one or two dishes to being excellent cook, he does great everyday staples like lasagne, chilli, fish or steak with vegetables, fresh pizza dough, but he also does a fantastic roast (better at Yorkshires than me), and a gorgeous chicken and mushroom dish with a creamy sauce that I absolutely love.

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 01/07/2022 12:34

Mine is the resident cook and is the main reason I can't get to my goal weight 😆 Favourites of his are jambalaya, roast pork belly (actually anything roast - his roasties are to die for), and his chicken tikka.

SirenSays · 01/07/2022 12:41

He's a really good cook and we share the responsibility often. His star dishes are seafood linguine, steak, spicy chicken ramen, donburi bowls

SunshineLollipopsAndRainbows · 01/07/2022 13:44

WanderingWildflower could I have the recipe for duck massaman please?

Dp does about 80% of the cooking here - love his roast dinners!

BearSoFair · 01/07/2022 15:46

His veggie curry. I can follow the exact same recipe and it doesn't turn out half as well as when he does it! Same with chilli. It must be something to do with the spicing!

Cas112 · 01/07/2022 15:51

Gnocci or satay chicken or salt and pepper chicken

ohhhh and a sunday roast 👌

GrouchyKiwi · 01/07/2022 15:53

DH isn't much of a cook, but he makes an excellent roast pork, and his fish finger sandwiches are top notch.

caringcarer · 01/07/2022 16:15

DH is vegetarian and me and ds's are meat eaters. He won't cook meat for us but he makes a great omelette and lovely cheesy pasta bake. He grates his own breadcrumbs to go on the top and mixes them with parmesan.

CounsellorTroi · 01/07/2022 16:36

DH is the main cook. He does great Chinese dishes.

Sleepyquest · 01/07/2022 16:41

Another one whose DH does all the cooking! Excellent stir fries, curries, risottos. If there's something I fancy, he tries to make it!

JanesLittleGirl · 01/07/2022 16:51

DH does almost all the cooking. My favourites are steak and kidney pudding, pizza made completely from scratch with a super-thin crust and lots of cheese and tomato sauce and a full English on a Sunday morning. But best of all is the G&T that he has waiting for me when I come in from work.

Would you share your massaman curry recipe please it's one of my favourite recipes but I never know which one is best to use

Comedycook · 01/07/2022 18:17

Mine doesn't cook at all. If on the odd occasion I'm out or haven't cooked, he puts oven chips and frozen fish or a ready made pizza in the oven.
