I'm a single mum to an 8.5 month old baby. My maternity leave ends in September but I know I cannot return to my old job. It would not be feasible in my position. I'm feeling anxious about changing jobs because I've been in the same one for over half a decade and got quite settled there.
My question is did anyone in my position change jobs and how easy was it? I don't mean in terms of settling in, more the logistics of it. I'll need to find childcare before I have a job obviously but I have no idea what hours i'll need or how long it will take me to successfully find one. How did you deal with interviews? My XP works shifts and I dont have any family nearby who could babysit while I go to interviews, so I would have to hope to get lucky.
I've already started looking at jobs but the vast majority look unsuitable. Trying to stay positive
Any advice?
