Any advice appreciated! How long can the after effects of stomach bug/food poisoning last.

14 days ago I started with horrendous diarrhoea (every 20 mins for the first 2 days) and vomiting and feeling nauseas. The vomiting lasted for 2 days and the non stop diarrhoea lasted for 6 days.
My issue is that I still have very loose bowel movements. Not like the diarrhoea I had in beginning. I’m no longer going every half an hour, but I’m still having 2-3 loose foul smelling bowel motions on day 14. I’ve spoke to the GP he says can take a while to clear and let him know in a few days how I feel.
Anyone else have lingering after effects from gastroenteritis like this? Really worried now.

Anyone experience lingering diarrhoea/loose strips after gastroenteritis? Really hoping it’s not just me 😓

I had a stomach bug the weekend of the Jubilee. I only just felt hungry again in the last few days. I still get occasional waves of nausea when I'm hungry (a bit like morning sickness) but I feel nearly 100% better. So it's taken nearly 4 weeks for me.

Thanks for replying! Did you find your bowel movements were still off on those 4 weeks? I’m just worried about the loose motions

I had a really bad stomach bug several years ago that left me temporarily lactose intolerant. I had diarrhoea every time I ate dairy. I had to avoid it for about 6 months, after which I was fine to eat it again.

Yes my little ds years ago. He was hospitalised and they told me it takes a while for your gut lining to heal. Hope you feel better soon

Yes I once was sick for a good month in my twenties to start feeling that I was over it.
