Is there such a thing as a personal version of Mumsnet?

A group of friends would like to share some information which will help us make a group decision. However we don’t want the others to know who contributed what information.

If we were all MN users we could change names and create a thread and each post there, safe in the knowledge that it was all anonymous.

Does anyone know if there is an app that allows you to set up a sort of private Mumsnet-style chat board or survey, where not even the admin knows who is who?

Try Discord - it's essentially a private chat room. I have it for my writing group and love it.

pieces of paper and a pen? 😁

This. Write it on a bit of paper, fold it up and put it in a hat. Unless one of you has VERY distinctive writing, should be pretty anonymous. Obviously if you usually use a fountain pen and brown ink or something ridiculous, switch to a biro.

Oh missed your update - not all in UK.

Are salary comparisons going to be valid in different countries?

You actually could all join MN and set up a thread on Flouncer’s corner, or somewhere else that gets no traffic! If you all in a post relatively short time period, you aren’t likely to get randoms interloping.

I'm sure MNHQ would oblige with deleting it if you ask nicely!

Or start a thread in OTBT.

Is that still there? It doesn't come up in Active and Google searches.

Maybe not a very good idea though.

I won’t go into detail but we’re comfortable with how the data will be presented and analysed @Changechangychange.

I would not reveal my Mumsnet habit to this group!

You can all create new Google email addresses quite easily and use random names, then all Email the info copying in the original email list.

All make fake Gmail accounts (takes 1 min). One person makes 2 accounts, 1 as an admin and 1 of their own private one. Everyone emails admin email their answer
