Spanish-Moroccan Border What’s going on?

Does anyone know what’s happened at the Spanish-Moroccan border?

I’ve just seen a video of dead bodies of African immigrants and the police beating them to death!

I’ve not seen anything on the news about it.

Christ what is happening in this world...humans killing humans, like a pack of wild animals.... those poor people.

Basically migrants tried to cross the border from Morocco into Spain by climbing a wall plus fence en masse. I think the sheer number was unprecedented. At some point said wall and fence collapsed, with people falling on the ground or on top of each other.

Many people have died, it is not clear if it was from
The fall from the fence / wall
Being crushed by the crowd
Gas used by police (not sure which country)
Being beaten by police (again not sure which side of the border)
Or all of the above 😞

I thought some sort of enquiry was going on? The images are horrendous.

Horrific. How could all those police/guards stand there without helping those poor people?

I’ve been without TV for a few days and I hadn’t seen any threads on MN which usually tells me if somethings happened and then I saw some horrific videos on Instagram of all the bodies.

And unless the war in Ukraine and the drought in Africa are over soon it will get much worse.

Something needs to be done to stop people making these attempts. I'm totally against rewarding illegal immigrants. If you let in 100 today, 500 will be on your borders the following month. If you let in those 500, the next month there will be 5,000. Africa has the highest birth rate in the world. In fact, its birth rate is so high that its population is going to double by 2050. Climate change could trigger the mass exodus of that booming young population, which will cause chaos in the Mediterranean and horrendous tensions within Europe. Africa's birth rate is something no one ever discusses. They'd better start, because it could mean the end of the European Union.
