Electric car or not?

I’m thinking of getting a bigger car and weighing up my options. What’s everyone’s opinion on electric cars? Is it worth investing in one now or do they still need a few more years to develop?

the prices of them are eye watering even on finance so I’m not sure if it’s worth it yet!!

Sorry meant to say if those having positive experiences can name the type of car that would be really helpful.

As I said in my post, I have a mini. I haven’t had any issues with my car and have had good experiences but I was realistic about my needs when I bought the car. I knew a city car with city car dimensions and range would be adequate for 95% of my journeys. I have a driveway and can charge conveniently at home with very little need to use the public network.
