Probation and job interview on the same day!

By chance I have a job interview a few hours before my probation meeting. TBH I don't even know how I ended up interviewing when I'm happy where I am. Sure this job I'm interviewing for pays more (it would be a 58% salary increase) but I don't think I have enough experience? If I stay where I am, I'm sure I'll be promoted to director, which ultimately will mean a bigger jump in salary. This role I'm interviewing for is the same as my current role, just that the pay is closer to industry standard.

Don’t go to the interview. How probable is the progression to Director and how long will it take.
Application impressed the panel enough to offer the interview

How long is a piece of string? The truth is that I don't know. I'm sure my boss is being promoted to VP, that's just the structure within the company, which will.leave the director position vacant. There are only two of us who can fill her role, but I'm sure I'd be the "preferred" one (and I don't know if my colleague wants it anyway).

What do you have to lose by going to the interview?

I won't lose anything and definitely might gain some insight of how other companies work and how this role works in other organisations. I still see it as a discovery exercise.

Er, request an alternative interview date?

Onlyrainbows · 28/06/2022 19:43

I can attend both that in itself isn't a problem
