Downsizing Kia Sorrento to smaller 7 seater

We have a 2015 Kia Sorrento, it has held its resale price well and we are considering downsizing it for three reasons -

  • we don't need such a big car as not all kids in car seats now
  • it is expensive to run
  • it is too big to park in the quaint English town in which I work

I am looking at zafiras and cmax grand type vehicles. Considerably cheaper and will be cheaper to run through engine size etc at least. We must have 7 seats though.

Is this a good idea? Anything I haven't thought of

Thanks

Dacia Logan?

I'm not seeing that vehicle come up on auto trader.

I'm more asking about the principle of downsizing I think, although vehicle recommendations are helpful

smallest 7 seaters
This link might give you some options. The problem is, any 7 seater is going to be fairly big, so you could still struggle to park it.

Do you need to use the extra seats rarely, often or all the time? Some of the 7-seaters have small and inconvenient extra
seats so I guess it depends what you need to use them for. Also, will you need much boot space once you're using the back seats? Some only have tiny boots once you're using the last row.

We've had zafiras since the kids were small. Not pretty but can't fault them really. We drive to Europe a lot and we can fit so much shit in the boot as a 5 seater, way bigger boot space than lots of the other cars we looked at. Nice driving position.

Thanks for comments, we use seat 6 and 7 a couple of times a week normally but oldest children are 10 and youngest 6 so no bulky car seats and no lanky teenage boys yet on the horizon. Thanks for the vote of confidence for zafira.

Noted re size, but some are 20 cm narrower which makes all the difference when you are squeezing between a wall and car!
