Duke of Edinburgh gold - insurance

DD 17 is about to do her DoE gold expedition which is canoeing in France. I am really struggling to get travel insurance what covers under 18’s as a single traveller and covers canoeing/kayaking as the main reason for a trip. Anyone successfully managed to arrange insurance? I can’t bring myself to go through another 60 page policy document looking at small print (how I found out Aviva cover water sports but not if it is the main reason to travel).

Hi no they won’t unfortunately.

Do you have an insurance broker near you? My neighbour had to get travel insurance for their son who was skiing with family friends. Went through a local broker in the town centre.

Thanks @Tromboleese i’ll give that a go! I’ve also reached out to the camp organiser to check for recommendations. It seems to be age related as under 18 and they aren’t supervised at every stage.

also contact the DofE and ask for a list of additional insurance providers?
