We adopted a previously wild cat and have a dog. It took a long time to be able to have them around each other freely. The dog just spent 20 minutes trying to catch a fly, the cat jumped into action, caught the fly and dropped it in front of the dog before rubbing her head all over her and settling to sleep while the dog made a snack out of the fly.
