Anyone in Belfast, or able to be in Belfast, this Friday - 1st July, 2022? Support needed at Langanside Courts for Noah Donohoe's Inquest. 💙

Some Mumsnetters will have heard, or seen my threads and those of other Mumsnetters, about young Noah Donohoe. Noah was a much-loved and loving, bright, beautiful, bi-racial, gentle, funny, kind, musical, sporty and innocent 14 year old child. On 21st June 2020, Noah set off on a cycle ride to meet his schoolfriends to work on his Duke of Edinburgh Award. Tragically, Noah never arrived and his naked body was found in a drain 6 days later, exactly two years ago today.

Noah's mummy Fiona and his auntie Niamh Donohoe are still - yes, two years later - having to fight very hard for the truth about his death and for justice for Noah.

💙This Friday, 1st July, 2022, Noah's Inquest is to be held at Langanside Courts, Belfast - time to be confirmed, but likely to be midday. Fiona and Niamh will be attending in person, alongside the legal team, and very much need - and would very much welcome - your support outside court. If you can attend, please do.💙

Whether or not you can offer your support in person on Friday, if you haven't already signed, a link to Fiona's petition so far with 307,822 signatures can easily be found in the OP of this thread here, together with more information about Noah's story. The police have applied for four files from their faulty investigation into Noah's disappearance and death to be kept secret:

All help to keep posting and bumping this thread and the petition thread into Active gratefully received.

Thank you 💙

Bumping- I will be there. It’s all so awful. My heart goes out to his mummy. 💙

NigellaAwesome · 28/06/2022 20:39

That poor family. I remember this so clearly, and Noah looked like such a lovely, smiley boy. I know people who went to school with him and they only have positive things to say about him.

I assume it is a PII that the police have applied for? I can see why that might be necessary to protect disclosure of operational tactics - for example use of ping for mobile phone technology, or if a covert intelligence source had provided information to help the investigation. Has there been anything at all put into the public domain that seeks to explain what the reasoning is for it?

But that does not help Noah's Mum, who understandably is left with an impression that there is a cover up and she is not being told the full story of what happened to her child. I hope she gets some answers.

Yes, Noah was an utter joy. He had a bright future ahead of him. He was no risk to anyone and did not deserve what happened to him in any way.

Yes, a Public Interest Immunity Certificate. The police (PSNI) are citing operational reasons, 'nothing to see here' in the same way that they miraculously said 'no foul play' before Noah was formally identified or a post mortem performed. Public Interest Immunity Certificates have been used in the past to protect involvement by paramilitaries, security services and police informants, allegedly for 'the greater good' . One example of this was Robert Howard, who was protected by the PSNI and went on to murder, rape and sexually assault other children and adults in Ireland, England and Scotland after getting off with the murder of 15 year old Arlene Arkinson, thanks to a PII. Ben Wallace, Conservative MP for Wyre and Preston North and then NIO Secretary, signed off the PII in Arlene's case. Brandon Lewis, Conservative MP for Great Yarmouth and current NI Secretary holds the pen in Noah's case.

It is not an impression. There is a cover up. More information is available on this pinned thread here:

I hope its a good turnout for Fiona and 💙Noah.

It appears we
( England ) are living in a very different world to Ireland.

I'm too far away but bumping for you.

MNettersForNoahAndFiona · 29/06/2022 12:12

Thank you for your posts @catandcoffee - people will turn out on Friday 💙

To some extent that's definitely true, but remember that there is a lot of travel and crossover between NI, the Republic of Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales. Simon Byrne, the current police (PSNI) chief constable came from Cheshire and the Met, for example. Drew Harris - ex PSNI and British M15 - took over policing in the ROI. There had been allegations against both of them, not found, of course. The PII (Public Interest Immunity Certificate) granted in NI for Robert Howard meant he was free to reoffend multiple times in England and Scotland, as in my reply to a pp above. Women and children in England were not safe because of the PSNI's cover up.

Children in Belfast are not safe and are still at risk because of the PSNI's response to Noah's disappearance and death. And who knows where the people they are protecting this time will travel to?

And not forgetting @catandcoffee , as in my reply to Nigella Awesome, the men responsible for signing off these PIIs are both Conservative MPs in England - Ben Wallace with Robert Howard's and now Brandon Lewis with Noah. 💙

That's like a conspiracy then ,yes.

We are too trusting of the people who are meant to keep us safe. Honestly I am so shocked at what is going on.

I was nieve to this type of behaviour and corruption. Always thought it happened in other Countries, but not the UK.

And caught in this 💙 Noah.

MNettersForNoahAndFiona · 29/06/2022 15:54

It is shocking, you're right, @catandcoffee - I think most of us were at least a little naive to the extent of it. Right at the very beginning when Noah first went missing, Fiona went into this trusting the police (PSNI) and coroner to do the right thing but over two years they have completely and understandably lost her trust.

And caught in this, Noah.
Yes, Noah, his mummy Fiona and his auntie Niamh are being expected to pay a very high price for whatever corruption, collusion and compromise is going on. And not forgetting the other children of Belfast and elsewhere who will not be safe from something similar happening to them.

I was very pleased to see Alexis Rodney's tweet yesterday and didn't know it had made it into the papers - some good publicity there indeed, plus over 1000 worldwide retweets. It's in the Mirror and Belfast Live too. 💙
