Days out in North Yorkshire

Hello

We're spending 3 full days in Thirsk next month and are after some ideas for days out or things to do. It's 3 adults, who enjoy walking, good food and willing to give most adventures a go! Fountains Abbey is a definite as we've been previously and love it.

Sutton Bank

Lots of places in the North York Moors - will always be nice
Brimham Rocks near Fountains Abbey is great - and then there's Pateley Bridge and around.

You could head up to Saltburn and do the coast path - Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay

Honestly - you are spoilt for choice

Brimham rocks is lovely.

Helmsley

Rosedale Abbey in the moors is one of my favourite places in N Yorks also if the weather is good you could try Helmsley open air swimming pool.

Second Sutton Bank. (Although the drive can be nerve racking!)

Good access to York for the Castle etc

Forbidden Corner
Dalby Forest - Go Ape

Train into York, so many things to do there
Harrogate, see if you can book the Turkish Baths or depending when you're coming try and get tickets to the Yorkshire Show.

Saltburn
Drive to Sutton Bank and walk along the top/round the White Horse
