Has anyone found they've lost their appetite for meat?

For no other reason than they just don't fancy it. I'm not complaining or anything like that but having been married to a butcher for over 20 years previously I ate a lot of meat. Every meal. It started with not being able to face chicken, then slowly most meats.

I'm not vegetarian, I still eat ham occasionally and do eat fish.

I know this is about as interesting as a bath sponge. Maybe it's an age thing (54), maybe it's hormones. Anyone else just go off meat?

My diet is very good before anyone mentions all the ways to up protein in my diet. I already know Wink

I went off it over 50 years ago. It's much easier being vegan now than it was then, although my mother did her best to find alternatives and incorporated them into family meals.

If I didn’t have all my medical problems that involve the food I eat I would probably be a vegetarian. I don’t like eating it really. But without it I would starve.

That’s what happened to me before I decided to try being vegetarian for a week, except I went off fish first. I never went back to eating meat after that first week, and the longer it’s been since then, the less appealing meat has become.

Yep, me. Was fairly carnivore. 50 ish, so ties in with hormones. Need to up my veggie game.

Yes I feel similar. Am 52.
I have gone off meat but still eat it sometimes as I can't eat pulses and alot of veg due to severe IBS. But I don't enjoy it in the same way anymore.
Still live fish though.

Thinking about it, yes, I seem to have lost the taste for it and regularly have totally meat-free days without planning to. And when I do have meat it's usually chicken, and it's in much smaller amounts than I used to enjoy. It could be a natural consequence of trying to eat more veg though, and as I can't eat huge portions the meat part has naturally decreased.

I'm in my late 50s. I have been enjoying it less but this coincides with me economising on food shopping and buying less good quality poultry. I have been eating more frequent meat free meals but I have IBS which stopped me from being wholly veggie after a few years of it when younger. I can do a few days vegetarian a week now if I'm careful about FODMAPs but probably won't be able to go 100%.
