Pet insurance. 😞

FemmeNatal · 25/06/2022 23:59

We’ve cut back on using the petrol car now that super unleaded is £2.10 a litre.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 26/06/2022 00:00

Per plan and pet insurance although even that's a drop in the ocean sadly.

I think life insurances will go next 😢

Eating up from the full freezer and cupboards, seeing how long can go without a big shop.

letsplanaholiday · 26/06/2022 00:06

I needed pine nuts for a recipe last week. DH went to Tesco do me and came back with them spitting feathers.. almost £6 for a bag of pine nuts!!! If I'd have realised before he bought them I wouldn't have bothered with them!

GodneySaysWorkBitch · 26/06/2022 00:08

Definitely pine nuts. Wtf is that all about? Are they from Ukraine?

LadyCatStark · 26/06/2022 00:11

Petrol for any journeys that aren’t for work 😢.
Gas for heating (obviously not now but in April it was 13 degrees in our house some mornings and this winter we’re going to be seriously cold) 😢.
Using our local shop as the prices have gone up even more than in supermarkets. If we’re not passing a supermarket on a work journey (we love rurally) we have to do without until we are.
Good quality meat, we’re having to go for cheaper options.
Branded food, we’re shopping at Aldi even more than previously.
Clothes except for for DS who is 13 and in his growth spurt stage.

Real butter. Ground coffee. Free range whole chicken.

Pine nuts are shit anyway-just taste of soap.

Toasted sunflower seeds a good alternative

Yes, have a sports car I like to use in the summer, but not so much at the moment.

pisspants · 26/06/2022 03:13

Getting the dog groomed. It was £44 every 8 weeks and I couldnt justify it any more. Plus was 5 miles there x4 with dropping then picking up again. I bought a set of clippers and am doing him a little bit day by day instead. He looks a lot scruffier but is fine.

Growuppeople · 26/06/2022 03:16

Choc Mini rolls! £3.50 😳why would anyone pay that!? Only when on offer do they appear as a treat

BasiliskStare · 26/06/2022 04:13

I haven't stopped buying Pet Insurance but cut back to the most basic one. ( I won't go without 3rd party - though I think you can get this via Dogs Trust) The cost was becoming unbelievable and nothing they ever needed doing seemed to be covered.

HandScreen · 26/06/2022 05:45

Organic food

HandScreen · 26/06/2022 05:45

^ not because it has increased in price, but to offset the other price increases.

FourTeaFallOut · 26/06/2022 05:52

The cooked chicken at Tesco that now works out at £17.5/kg has been jettisoned from the shopping list. Apparently I have found my upper limit of the price penalty I'm prepared to tolerate for the luxury of being lazy. So I'm buying fresh and cooking it up for the kids sandwich meat at just over a third of that price.

KangarooKenny · 26/06/2022 06:04

10 Birds Eye cod fish fingers £3.50 !!! I’ve stopped buying them.

LairyMcClairy · 26/06/2022 06:08

Switched from ocado to Aldi for lots of things- actually really enjoying some of the swaps.

FindingMeno · 26/06/2022 06:10

I'm currently drinking some pretty grim unbranded coffee, trying to adjust my taste.
Trying to eat cheaper, and less, and be creative with lurking on the turn veg in the fridge.

MintJulia · 26/06/2022 06:17

Brands generally.
