Fish, lamb, beef, 'label' bread (switched to supermarket own brand), wine - I buy one bottle as a treat every now and again and eek it out by mixing with sparkling water, Pepsi Max, berries unless they are on offer.
I avoid putting the oven on so I've switched to more meals I can cook on the hob. I have been batch cooking , but even that I'm avoiding because lasagnes, fish pie, hot pots all need to go in the oven. No more cake baking. I was making my own bread but I am going to have a go at making chapatis which cook quickly on the hob.
We take sandwiches out with us instead of eating out and go on walks rather than paying to go into places. I have NT membership so we visit our local sites a lot, but that will go at the end of the year. Petrol is too expensive to justify trips to places futher afield, and I feel like I know every stick of furniture in our local NT properties. A shame as I rally want to keep supporting them. If I can walk somewhere rather than take the car I do.
It broke my heart but I cancelled the DD for our local food bank.
I have spent about £40 on clothes so far this year. I am digging out all of my old stuff. I bought a second hand dress from ebay for a wedding I'm going to - can't justify the cost of a new one to wear for one day. I asked for t shirts and walking boots as birthday presents rather than people spending money on stuff I don't really need. I have not been to the hairdressers this year. I cut OHs hair with clippers I bought during lockdown.
