Where in the world?

We’ve not had a holiday in years, we’ve actually only been abroad once together in 10 years and that was a city break.

DP has come in to some money and we’ve decided to use it as a holiday for the two of us. It needs to be booked last minute because we won’t have the cash for 4 weeks and I’m a teacher so needs to be over summer.

We can afford £3000 maximum for the entire holiday, no preference on board basis or anything like that. We have never been in this situation before but after an awful year we’ve decided to prioritise having an amazing experience.

Where would you go and who would you book with? We are clueless at where to start.

If you haven’t been to America that’s a good choice, even better visit a few places over 2/3 weeks

Italy is another good choice

if you’re after a beach holiday I think I would try the Maldives as it looks beautiful and for most people it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity

or otherwise I would pick a beachy country you’ve both never been to before but splash out and pick an amazing hotel 😃 and go all inclusive

HollowTalk · 24/06/2022 22:26

Do you prefer beaches, countryside or cities?

FreetheKhalo · 24/06/2022 22:32

Beaches preferably because we want to relax and we’ve never been to the beach together. I should have said we can only really go for a week so is America too far?

I know I sound clueless but I’ve been to Spain once and Prague once and that’s it.

Who would you book with? I’ve seen all issues with flights so don’t know what companies are ones that I should use

Island hopping through Croatia in August would be my suggestion. My favourite holiday of all time.

NoToLandfill · 25/06/2022 04:37

Jet2 is the only holiday company I trust at the moment. They didn't fire loads of staff during covid and all flights are going as planned.

The website lets you search for beach holiday, then filter on what you need eg outdoor indoor pool.

Maybe try the indulgent escapes holidays they do. It would narrow down the search for you.

How exciting! Have fun looking and planning!

Don't go to America for just a week. It's pricey and you'd only just have got used to the time difference when you'd be packing to come home.

Island hopping in Croatia is the suggestion I would go with.

Other than that, would you like Sardinia or Corsica?

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 25/06/2022 05:18

Apparently Croatia is lovely. I spent last night looking at holidays and we've settling on Zante for a 10 day holiday perhaps next year. Looks nice for a July time of year for us when kids break up from school.

Cruise.
go on a cruise love.
you can get beach destinations,
terrific value if you find the right cruise.
find the right cruise and you can enjoy 4/5/6 countries in a week. Great accommodation, all meals, snacks, drinks ( not booze)
you seriously can not beat a cruise.
warning, you will Addicted

NannyWeatherWitch · 25/06/2022 05:34

You will be addicted. Geeze sleep deprivation is a cow!

Another vote for Croatia. Look at Baska Voda or Brela.
