Really bloody annoyed

A few months ago a new person was recruited to work alongside me. However, my boss basically carved up my job and intended to take most of it off me - with no real answer to what I was going to be doing with my time.

I was quite annoyed, as I'm good at my job, there had been no issues & boss & I got on well.

Eventually I voiced my concerns and after a huge struggle, retained a lot of what was going to be given away.

Recently boss told me we need to give new person more to do.
There really isn't enough work for 2 f/t and now boss is wanting to give them more - by giving away more parts of my job again! 🙄

If this happens, then probably I will be sat twiddling my thumbs, or worse, might end up with other tasks I dislike.

I'm meeting my boss next week to discuss.
I'm sick of having to fight for my job continually. 🤬

I'd take advice from acas or your union and make sure you're documenting exactly what has and is being said and done in emails.

Do you have an hr dept?

Could also use it as an opportunity to discuss a promotion or more responsibility.

Hi

why did they recruit another person in the first place if you managed all your work?

@007DoubleOSeven I am HR, amongst other things! 🤣

@dogmandu initially we added new processes, which caused a lot of extra work but over time we have streamlined and found short cuts, so the workload is much more manageable.

I did tell the boss there probably wasn't enough work but he ignored that...

It's just so bloody frustrating having to fight to keep my work!
