Best bit of kit for Glastonbury

My lifelong friend turns 50 this year. She's also been to Glastonbury every year since her teens.

I want to buy her a great present but she only really likes things she can use. Candles, wine, food - all that sort of stuff is not her thing.

Is there anything you festival goes yearn for but don't buy because it's a bit of an extravagance?

I am not a festival goer. I have no clue.

At Glastonbury right now :) It depends what kind of thing she likes / does, as people do festivals in very different ways.

But some ideas. Lots of people wear loud sparkly clothes here - might that be her kind of thing? Or fairy lights or a little flag or wind sock type thing to decorate the tent with (and make it easier to find). A little bum bag or similar is pretty useful too.

Than you for those ideas. She says her most practical piece of camping kit is her pvc miniskirt. Doesn't get dirty and you can sit down anywhere. She loves clothes but she's definitely more practical than anything.

It's a good idea. I have no idea what they look like. They'd have to be pretty small. Things have to earn their place in her life.

Disposable knickers? Pre-loaded disposable toothbrushes?

some sort of quick dry camping towel? My niece has one, it is super-tiny, but does the job because so absorbent

posh wipes for a shower-substitute?

porta-johns so she can wee in her tent (look them up - sealable plastic bags with a shaped opening, full of those crystals that turn wee to jelly

A fancy poncho that folds itself really small?
A zoom lens for her camera to take pics at the gig? A portable phone charger. A usb mug warmer? A Contigo thermos.

A TV to watch it from home! 🤣

Oh! I agree @Horsemad annd these gifts are not making me crave the experience more. Each to their own.

I’ve just bought this for my festival loving friend. It holds her drink bottle, phone, fags, cash, card and keys. She loves it!

I think she'd love that @Toughtimesagain thanks.

I think I will get a travel John set to put in it. She's anti single use plastic, as am I but I think it might pass under the ' something I wouldn't buy but am happy to have,' heading.

You can use them for more than one wee, if there is space left

Mumsnut · 26/06/2022 11:47

they are sealable and stand upright in between
