Can you get into the Harry Potter studios lobby/cafe without tickets?

Hoping wise MNetters will know - is it possible to meet people in the HP studio tour cafe without having booked tickets to the actual tour?

Have lovely family coming up this weekend from Cornwall, and train strikes have scuppered our London lunch plans on Saturday. We're just about driving distance from the studio tour which they're doing on Sunday, so could meet them there before they go in, but I can't find any info on site about whether you need a ticket to enter the actual building.

Crossing fingers someone knows!

No. You need tickets on the front door.

Can't remember but pretty sure the cafe isn't at the entrance so would require tickets sadly

ItWorriesMeThisKindofThing · 23/06/2022 19:19

No, you can’t even go to the shop!

You can’t even get in the car park without showing booking confirmation

Shouldhavedoneitsooner · 23/06/2022 19:23

I haven’t been for a while but there used to be another cafe by the front door before you go in. I’ve just looked online and it seems to still be there. There’s also a but good hall halfway through.

hilariousnamehere · 23/06/2022 19:31

It was the cafe by the front door I was hoping for, @Shouldhavedoneitsooner - maybe I will give them a ring in the morning as not having much luck finding walking distance places to meet them nearby.

Been twice and had to show booking to get into car park.

KatherineofGaunt · 23/06/2022 19:49

I went there in April. You can't get in at all unless you can prove you have a ticket. The entrance hall has changed massively in the last few years and the Chocolate Frog café is now the one at the entrance, but it's right past the shop, toilets etc. There used to be a café on the left but the entrance has completely changed now.

lanesra01 · 23/06/2022 19:53

There is a cafe called studio cafe or studio kitchen something like that within walking distance - it has parking outside and isn’t too expensive - you could probably walk to the studio from there in about 5/6 mins

Gazelda · 23/06/2022 19:53

Try Studio Cafe. It's quite close by and is good value. Only thing is though that last time I went there it was pretty noisy so maybe not the best place for a meet up if you want to chat loads.

Or there's probs lay a cafe along Courtlands Drive which is t very far.

redwaterbottle · 23/06/2022 19:55

I was there recently and they checked out tickets as we entered the car park. Not sure if it's different if you arrive on foot?

cottagegardenflower · 23/06/2022 20:14

We queued outside with our tickets, so needed tickets to gain entry into the main area. The cafe was a long way from the entrance. So no.

PurpleFadesToGreen · 23/06/2022 20:18

Yep , Studio Kitchen, Cunningham Way, is your best bet.
It has outside seating, food is great too.

You guys are brilliant! Thank you 😁
