Billie Eilish at the 02 - where to eat, where to hang around and wait

Am taking a job lot of teenagers there on Saturday but have no idea how manic it will be and need some advice on the practicalities.

Firstly, what's the eating like? I know there are loads of chains, but will they be rammed - and can you eat inside? If so, what?

Secondly, thanks to the rail strike we are driving and I am not going in. Any suggestions on where is a good place to hang around for a couple of hours without paying a fortune for parking (I have to run an errand first, but that won't take forever).

Thank you!

I'd imagine restaurants will be relatively quiet once the show is on. Or do you mean you all want to eat before the show? I'd book a table in that case.

Eating is plenty but expensive which I am sure is no surprise. The Underground will be operating so you could go to Stratford if Westfield is open.

When I was there (pre covid) they had set up a waiting area for parents with complimentary coffee, similar demographic concert

If you don't want to hang around the 02 which is a nightmare in event days you could go to the nearby Greenwich Odeon and watch a film with free parking. Only a few minutes drive away. There is also an IKEA there so you could browse and eat meatballs if you prefer. You would need to watch that you don't exceed the time limit in the free car park, I can't remember what it is offhand.

Further down the road in Charlton there is a massive Primark that has a coffee shop inside (Costa I think). Free parking there too and loads of other retail outlets along that road.

I can go to IKEA? This is gamechanging...

Thank you everyone - I think we will take them to Westfield to eat first (if we don't spend all day on the motorway) and then I'm off to IKEA and Primark.

It's getting close to being fun .
