I was being curious today so looked up my GP record as I'm on antibiotics yet again
Since 2006 I've had 39 courses Blush

I used to be given lots as a child, but apparently since 2006 I have had two.one was a tooth abcess and one was cellulitis.

I get an average of 2 UTIs a year and ABs are the only thing that works (I take dmannose daily which has reduced it down from 6-8 infections a year) so I've had a lot of courses, but all necessary. When I go on holiday somewhere abroad with an over the counter approach to ABs, I stock up (I brought 4 courses back with me from Thailand, I still have one course left 2.5 years later and they're still in date!)
I live in fear of the day we have AB resistant UTIs 😱 solidarity with my UTI sisters!

Once in the last 15 years, for a dental abscess. Before then I think I can remember 2 occasions in adulthood.

Seriously????

I had sepsis in 2007 and had some heavy duty ones by drip then. Not sure what, was a bit out of it.

I had a 3 day course in Xmas 2018 for a UTI, that’s it.

im allergic to penicillin though and very aware of only taking them in emergency though. My friend honestly has at least a batch a month I think.

Pretty much the same as this. One case of sepsis where I had all of the antibiotics, I think I had 4 different types by drip then a heavy duty dose for 2 weeks after I left the hospital. And I had a UTI a few years ago so had antibiotics for that. I'm 36 and I think I was about 32 before I ever had any?

In the past few years probably a fair few due to UTIs in two pregnancies, and several bouts of mastitis.

Before then, hardly any.

Caught remember as a child how many lots I had but was prone to tonsillitis until I had them removed at age 8 so a few. In adulthood maybe 3 lots although I couldn't tell you what they were for....

Crispynoodle · 23/06/2022 23:28

Every single day 1000 mg penicillin I have no spleen so it is advised

In mine it has current and past, you need to click on past medication

I don't have that option, just 'acute' or 'repeat' but nothing older than a few months.

@MsOllie where can you see this please?

In the last 20 months I've had roughly 10-12 courses of antibiotics and IV antibiotics for sepsis, many courses as an adult for repeat uti infections and chest infections, a few weeks ago for tooth infection so absolutely loads
Have no idea prior to being a adult
