Apologies if there's one already! Find the summer heat unbearable, struggling to cope! Daydreaming of cooler, cosy days! Ideas for the autumn /winter please!

I feel your pain! I too hate the summer months and seem to go into a kind of depression, a sort of winter SAD disorder but in reverse. I wish I could hibernate from April to late September and emerge as the nights were drawing in, the leaves were starting to change colour and you could feel that nip in the air. I am definitely more of a autumn/winter person and loathe the summer heat, the bugs, the hay-fever, the sticky nights, the idiots that drive around with the windows down and the music blaring...the list goes on. In the colder months you can snuggle up with a blanket and a hot chocolate with a good book and a candle burning, or watch a movie in your cosy pjs. I like to wrap up warm and go for a walk in the woods, the leaves crunching under your feet🍂🍁 In the summer there seems to be so much pressure to be outside doing stuff and for someone with social anxiety it isn't always easy. Bring on the autumn I say!

I’m dreaming of autumn already. Summer is hot sweaty, everything rubs, I’m dripping even more than normal (peri) and I can not be bothered to even move.

flapjackfairy · 22/06/2022 16:12

me too. And add noisy neighbours making a racket in the garden late at night to the list of reasons to prefer winter.
But hey on the plus side we have had the longest day so it is downhill to winter from now on.

I love ALL the seasons!! I moved to NZ for many years and one if the things I missed the most was seasons!! Especially in Auckland it's Summer (beautiful) or Winter (rain, proper, fantastic rain!! I miss that in the U.K., where it just dribbles)

So despite having been back (in the U.K.) many years now, I still appreciate & enjoy every season!!

if I promise not to tell anyone to enjoy summer, can I stay please!!!

I ❤️ autumn 🍂, walking in the woods, turning the heating off early to snuggle under a blanket (won't be difficult to remember this year I feel!!). A hot drink outside in the morning. The amazing changing colours of the trees... Autumn is my favourite season of all 🍁

UGH NO - hides thread!

LetsGoCrazyPurpleBanana · 22/06/2022 16:28

My kind of thread. Hating the heat at the moment. Thank god it's going to be cooler next week.

I'm definitely with you! Aftert the first hot spell of the year I yearn for autumn and winter. It's difficult for me as I have to spend all summer designing Christmas products so by now I'm fully immersed in Christmas 🎄

flapjackfairy · 22/06/2022 16:53

@4intheCorner
you lucky beggar. I try to be in christmas mode all year round myself as I love it so much !

wildthingsinthenight · 22/06/2022 17:00

Yes! You are my people!
Really hate Summer and hot weather.
I have a sweatshirt that says
"Jumpers and boots and shepherd's pie "
Daydreaming about a crisp Autumn morning walk with a hot chocolate.
Baking apple crumble. Looking for conkers. Reading in front of the fire.

ChippyTea16 · 22/06/2022 17:43

@4intheCorner omg I’m so jealous I would love a Xmas job! How do you get one?? 😄

I too love autumn (although I do like summer
too and beach holidays etc). But autumn is my time. Love getting out my jumpers and boots and scarves and winter coats. I wear a lot of tartan and check print and it makes me feel so much better.

I love when the autumn flavour coffees come out and the nights get darker and everything is just much closer. I feel like autumn tv is better too! Can’t wait for it this years as I’ve been abroad for a few years so properly looking forward to a uk Christmas this year! 🥰

This is me too...our neighbours are awful, the second they hear us in the garden they are out & blaring their music at us & shouting & basically not wanting us in our gardens. Winter is more bearable

Just catching up on the rest of the posts, love my autumn winter staples of boots, jumpers, parka & bobble hats.... Hate summer clothes!
