How to stop screwing up your eyes when outside?

Sounds like a daft question but for years after having a photo taken outside I have looked at it, only to realise I have my eyes closed. I screw my eyes up at the slightest bit of brightness outside and physically can’t stop it 🤦🏼‍♀️ I’m getting married soon and don’t want to look like this in every photo. Does this happen to anyone else? Other than just raising my eyebrows and looking strange in every picture, how can I stop doing it? 😑🙈

Wear sunglasses, I much prefer my pics in them 😂😎

Just make sure the sun is behind you and isn't reflecting off anything into your eyes!

Or wear sunglasses.

Sunglasses, they’ll also help to prevent wrinkles if you often find yourself screwing up your face

I work in the media and one of the things we recommend to presenters when they are working in the sun is to CLOSE ( very important that they are CLOSED !!) their eyes and then look to the sun. Relax and stand there for a good few minutes the longer the better. When you turn back and look at the camera and you should find it easier.
Some swear by it - others say it does nothing for them - but worth a try !

Are you blue eyed? Blue eyed people tend to be more sensitive to light.

I have to carry sunglasses with me all year round I’m so bad

makeminealargeplease · 22/06/2022 13:11

Do you have blue eyes, OP?

I'm the same, it doesn't even need to be sunny. Just daylight makes me screw my eyes up. I have blue eyes. I wear good quality sunglasses although that doesn't help much for your wedding day, just make sure you're not facing the sun.

Anytimeiseeit · 22/06/2022 13:28

I don’t know if you wear contacts op but you can get contact lenses that darken in the sun. I’ve tried them and they’re pretty good but too expensive for me to use all the time

Oh thanks everyone! I expected to come back on to some silly comments but all very helpful 😂 I feel like I can’t wear sunglasses in my wedding pictures but will try that trick @whywedrink thanks! No I’m not blue eyed, they’re brown. I just constantly do it, even on days when it’s really not even sunny 🤦🏼‍♀️ Just dread getting my pictures back to see I have my eyes shut or screwed up on them all 😂
