Should I send DD to school or the doctor?

DD (age 9) did a poo earlier that had a bit of blood in it. And she says her tummy hurts. She's usually bouncing about full of energy in the mornings, I can see it's troubling her.

She still wants to go to school though.

Should I be worried about the blood? (Possible, even, that it was even undigested tomato or something in her poo, I can't be sure).

WWYD?

If she seems otherwise fit and well, send her to school.

If the blood is fresh and on the surface of the stool, it' s likely to have been caused simply by her straining to "go", nothing to worry about

I'd presume she just strained a bit hard. I'd up her fibre and get her some Movical and wait and see if it happens again.

Thanks both. I've sent her in and will keep an eye on her tonight. She's a fussy eater and it's hard to get her to eat enough fibre (or greens), hopefully this might help convince her to try a bit more!
