I'm a private patient who just got fillings outside of the NHS. I claimed back on my (supposedly 'platinum') insurance and they have only covered 51% of the bill, which I am surprised about - I was fully expecting 90-100% coverage.
Fillings cost £145 per tooth. From a quick Google this seems to be bang in the middle of the range of estimates for private patients. I'm thinking of putting in a complaint that the actual coverage just isn't in line with 1) the market rate for treatment and 2) the description of the insurance package.
If you've had treatment recently, are these costs in line with what you'd expect?
