Any help with high blood pressure meds

My partner has just for some reason accidentally taken his blood pressure medication again, he already took it this morning. His usual dose is bisoprol 2.5mg and amlodipine 10mg so he's had double that. 111 said they'll get either a doctor or paramedic to call back but they can't say when it'll be.
Just wondering if in the meantime if anyone has any experience ?

I take BP meds. I'd say it should be fine and I wouldn't be overly concerned, but I'm not a doctor. I'd keep an eye out for any dizziness that might indicate low blood pressure/bradycardia - do you have a monitor at home to keep an eye on it?

@CornishGem1975 yeah we do have one. He's pretty worried thinks it's Gona be bad but I'd have thought you'd need to take alot for it to become dangerous ?

I'd say he'll be fine. I did the same the other week and doubled up and I'm 10mg amlodipine and 10mg ramapril so ended up with 20mg of each and was just told to keep an eye on things but I was fine. I used to take 5mg bisoprol alongside the ramapril too so I doubt that will cause issues either

I also take BP medication... I really don't think there's anything to worry about (but I am not a doctor!) ... I also forget mine quite frequently with no side effects Confused.

CornishGem1975 · 20/06/2022 19:52

Yeah @helppleasewith I think you'd probably have to take a lot more rather than double your dose, and also the fact it's been spaced out rather than all at the same time will probably make some difference.

I'd keep monitoring it regularly just to make sure there's no sudden drop or if he feels faint or dizzy.

CornishGem1975 · 20/06/2022 19:53

Also I'm basically on a double dose right now as switching medication and I have to be weaned off one so I'm taking my old one and my new one at the same time Confused and was given similar advice about monitoring.

I accidently took two Lisinopril in one day abd was fine, ho

Irridescantshimmmer · 20/06/2022 19:55

I did that with Lisinopril!
Felt fine all day and forgot about it!

Your partner may or may not experience some light headedness at the most.

Sorry about the accidental post above, my phone was winding me up

helppleasewith · 20/06/2022 20:21

Thank you everybody ! He was convinced because its blood pressure medication it's bad. Yeah not ideal I know but as a pp stated it's been really spaced out over a 12 hour period too

Well a doctor finally called back and told partner he should go to a&e for monitoring. So we will see. Hopefully it's just a precaution. He checked his blood pressure and it was normal.
