Pregnancy and driving test

29 weeks just now and have had crap luck with driving tests. 2 cancelled due to lockdown restrictions, one I had to cancel due to being in hospital after mc, then one from the other week cancelled because the examiner couldn’t make it.. I’m at the end of my tether with it.

I’m looking for a cancellation all the time but wondering when to stop if I have no luck in the next couple of weeks. This is my first pregnancy and I’ll need time to obviously prepare for the baby/want to avoid stress towards the end especially. If anyone who has perhaps sat their test past 30 weeks is able to advise, that would be great. Otherwise looking at towards the end of the year which I’ve booked provisionally, but was so wanting to get it out the way before baby arrives, even if I failed, just for the experience. TIA xxx

Hi, I was also learning to drive while pregnant. I did a test at 16 weeks pregnant back in November and failed. I couldn’t get a test then until around my due date and so decided to wait until after my DS was born to try again. He’s now 7 weeks and I’m resuming lessons next week ready for a test in September. I would say it depends how stressful you find driving? I personally don’t think I could have tried again after 30 weeks pregnant but I know other people don’t find it as daunting as I do xxx

Thank you for your reply ❤️ I’ve been learning for years on and off so feeling quite confident but my instructor totally let me down recently so I’ve ditched him and using my parents’ car from now on. I don’t feel I need any more lessons because I’ve genuinely had about 1000 😹. Going to see how the next few weeks go. All the best for you in September and congratulations on birth of DS 😘xxx

I took my second test at 34 weeks, i could barely sqeeeze behind the wheel. The examiner had me giggling making jokes him being prepared if i had the baby there and then.... i passed thankfully.

That gives me hope! Thank you ❤️xxx

I passed at 32 weeks. It was my 3rd attempt - I'd failed once at 12 weeks and once at 17 weeks!

The examiner said on seeing me "bloody hell it's my daughter that's the midwife not me" Grin

My mother took her test 40 years ago at 9 months pregnant. The instructor couldn't get her passed and out of the car fast enough. Explains her subsequent driving ability though ...

I passed at 36 weeks pregnant. You can do it!
