My partner has always wanted to be a commercial pilot. He has his PPL and is now en route to training for his commercial and ATPL . He wants to be a shorthaul to medium haul pilot- he seems to think the schedule is easier on the relationship. He plans to get his Captaincy after 5 years. It'll be an intense couple of years and I am not sure what to expect.
If anyone here has lived though this; seen their partner go through the training, what advice would you give to someone who is at the beginning of the journey?
