Talk to me about your favourite water bottle

I’m due to have DC2 in a few weeks and looking to treat myself to a new water bottle. I remember being sooooo thirsty in the early days of feeding DD. Bonus points if it’s easy to clean as DD is certain to want to share 😅

Honestly my favourite is the hydration tracker one from home bargains 😂 not very fancy but does the job

ScarlettOHaraHamiltonKennedyButler · 19/06/2022 20:16

I have a metal one that I picked up cheap in a sale. It's great for keeping the water cool and fresh but it has a screw top and I know I would have found that tricky while nursing. You might get them with flip straws somewhere.

I have a pro-gear 750ml motivational bottle it's got a flip up straw and is easy to clean. £6.50 from Sainsburys

An old Evian water bottle with the sports cap! I just buy a new one every so often.

I’ve got 2 that I love. One is a Chilly’s which has double wall insulation. The other is a Camelbak Eddy which you can drink from lying down, it is coming to hospital with me when I give birth.

wibblewobbleball · 19/06/2022 21:29

I've just got a new 2 litre one in anticipation of those early BF days with my next baby - god the thirst Confused The joy of it is that it's too heavy for my 2 yr old to lift so no backwashing swigs so far!! If you search 2 litre water bottle with straw on Amazon it comes up.

Smallorangecat · 19/06/2022 21:31

It’s my favourite because it’s got Moomins on it! I got it from oxfam. It’s metal, doesn’t leak, keeps my water cold enough.

Potatomashed · 19/06/2022 21:33

My DH bought me a HydroFlask with the straw attachment when I had DD and I can’t stop telling everyone how good the mouth feel is (and straw is wide so cleans well). Definitely a klean kanteen. The TKwide one are easy to clean and come with various cap options. Twist straw would probably be good for feeding.

FrogFairy · 19/06/2022 21:36

I love sistema hydrate tritan water bottles. Comes in 600ml or 800ml size, there are no fiddly bits to go mouldy just a nice clean hole the lid to drink from. I also like that you can see inside it that it is properly clean.

DockOTheBay · 19/06/2022 21:36

Mouth feel 🤢

EasterIssland · 19/06/2022 21:38

Chillys. I used to have a kk but they were so heavy. I’ve a chillys now for the gym and much lighter and keeps the cold water cold for a few days

FlickyCrumble · 19/06/2022 21:41

Contigo is the best. You can use it one handed and it doesn’t leak. Water stays cold for hours. The simpler plastic ones are great for kids too as they don’t leak and again can be used one handed. Water doesn’t stay cold though.

Potatomashed · 19/06/2022 21:33

Have you put yours in the dishwasher @Potatomashed ?
has it come out ok?
I need one that’s dishwasher proof and they always say there are but then look terrible.

TheChosenTwo · 19/06/2022 22:21

I have a chillys one I use for work (genuinely fantastic for keeping things very cold) but I don’t really like using it and often leave it in the car or at home.
my favourite is a cheap crappy plastic Volvic or whatever water bottle with sports cap - I drink so much more when I drink from a sports cap. I just use it for ages until it goes all crumpled and doesn’t return back to its usual shape so much anymore. You can get the sports cap top now for a chillys bottle but it’s definitely not the same as you don’t get the draw/vacuum-suction thing you get from a flimsy plastic one!

Clementine8 · 19/06/2022 22:21

Chilly’s or SHO, we have a mix of these two here and they both clean really easy, keep cold drinks cold & hot drinks hot and are robust. The kids frequently drop theirs and bar a dent in one lid they are still going strong.

Mynameispie · 19/06/2022 22:26

I love my SHO bottles, you can get a flip straw lid too. They’ve also recently lowered their prices.

mizzo · 19/06/2022 22:32

The only one I like is the sistema flip top one.

PotterLottery · 19/06/2022 22:38

SHO are my fave.

dramalamma · 19/06/2022 23:11

Contigo every time - the one where you press the button to drink - think they're called auto seal - cos you can use it one handed but when you release the button and inevitably drop it on the sofa when baby decides to either bite you or make a dive for freedom, it doesnt spill everywhere. They're brilliant and dishwasher proof and mine have lasted for years.
