The only thing I could hear was silence, it is so still and quiet out there tonight. It is that strange time between the day time birds bedding down for the night and the night owls starting their calls. It's not often I hear silence these days.

I can hear the fan inside and a distant train. But it's very quiet in my garden and in the village.

It's very nice after a day of mowers and children and dogs and music

Its fairly quiet round here but for my cat sat at the window shouting at the neighbourhood cats

On this hot night I've just had to shut my bedroom windows because of a party up the road in someone's garden. Lots of screaming teenagers. Sigh. Ah to be young again ...

I remember when I moved to a rural village and the silence was incredible. We moved back to a village that is still fairly rural but closer to a motorway and I couldn’t believe how noisy it actually is even when it’s the middle of the night. The constant drone of traffic that blends into the background can only be heard when you’ve spent time somewhere rural and silent.

I was outside on the back step earlier listening to the blackbirds singing. So beautiful and peaceful.

And tonight it is all thunderbolts and lightning! (And rain. Lots and lots of rain)

I had a light shower at 8 ish and hoped for a storm but it never happened

Have tinnitus so never have silence but in first lockdown loved hearing the birds sing so loudly
