How much to water a garden?

I’m going away for 2 weeks and am considering paying a local child/teenager to come and water my garden twice a week (so 4 visits). I’m going to put all the pots together in 2 groups, so they just have to stand there and soak them with a hose. Probably take about 20minutes per each visit.

How much do I offer them? I literally have no idea what the going rate is for pocket money.

Tenner a time? And get their mobile number because you will probably need to text them to remind them every time it needs doing.

At a tenner a time they shouldn't need reminding! That's 3 times the minimum wage, you should have a queue out the door and around the block for that much!

Ooh I was thinking £20 which is £5 a time. Maybe I could do £30, which is worth it to save my planet and vegetables.

Depends how near they live. A few streets away and £5 a visit seems fine. More and it feels a bit not worth their time.
