Sanitary pads for holiday

Hi
I'm going on holiday with my DD13 on Tuesday. Naturally, her period was due last weekend and it's not arrived - slightly worried she'll end up menstriating when we go 🫤
Does anyone have any experience of using suitable sanitary towels that work ok with swimwear and hopefully the swimming pool? She's not keen At all on tampons

Modibodi do swimwear designed for this.
Some of their range comes in teenager sizes.

Cheeky wipes also do swimsuits which start at a size 4.

I do hydrotherapy sessions as part of my job, and most of our patients are incontinent, and wear incontinence swimwear, but even that doesn't stop the pads getting soggy.

Definitely not normal ones.

Maybe see if any period pants are advertised for this?

Don't push the tampons (not that you were), they don't work for everyone in water anyway.

But does she actually want to swim? At that age I would have been terrified of leaking (and I still keep my legs crossed).

As a prior poster has said - you can get period swimwear now.

You need special period swimwear as PPs’ve said, pads or period pants are not suitable for swimming.

When do you go?

is it to late to order the tablets to delay her periods until you get back. Having a period on holiday is a disaster especially at that age.

custardbear · 17/06/2022 06:56

We go on Tuesday, to be honest she's on a few prescription tablets (MH hence going in term time as she's out of school just now) so I probably wouldn't want to give her anything in case of contraindications but good to know there's something available

I brought teen DD the modibodi swim bikini, she is happy with it so far. She isn't very heavy though not sure who well they work if you are a heavier flow
