Throwing stuff in bin/ recycling bin by accident.

Yesterday I finished a bottle of extra virgin olive oil, I put it in the recycling bucket and took it out to the main one outside. I then come in and realise there's some bits I forgot about. I put in the recycling bucket to take out later.

Today I'm stressed trying to do dinner and I realise I can't find the brand new bottle of oil. I look and look until I wonder if I accidentally threw it away. Sure enough my bottle of oil is swimming in its own oil in my recycling bucket. I had even took the bloody cap off. Why didn't I feel it was full? What possessed me? Why didn't it dawn on me I had already recycled the empty one? Why, why, why?!

Please make me feel better. I feel incredibly stupid. What things have you chucked away by accident?

I was really tired at work one time and I’d peeled and chopped this swede. Passed over the tray with the rest of the cut up swede in it and swept the whole lot I’d just prepped into the bin. Then stared at it like what. The. F** did I just do???!!! You’re probably just tired, don’t best yourself up over it

I've spent 4 hours making chicken stock and strained it down the sink

No thrown away, but...

I once took the rice cooker out of the microwave and thought I'd quickly drain it over the sink, which was still full of water from washing a few bits.

Forgot to use a colander and pretty much just dumped the whole pot of cooked rice into the gross washing up water.

A few days ago my husband made a pan of pasta sauce, then poured it into the pan with the pasta in. Except the pasta pan hadn't been drained yet, so the sauce was just floating in the water.

I have a friend who threw a freshly made cup of tea into the bin (cup included) instead of the tea bag recently! It's tiredness 😂 happens to the best of us

I binned a brand new really nice lipbalm recently. Had the old one that had run out with me and meant to just take off the sticker seal from the new one and bin with the old tube. Could never find the new one again so it must have got binned too.

I use syrup in my coffee from a pump bottle. I whacked a hefty pump into my mug with the coffee powder, gave it a stir and realised they were dry. Took me far too long to realise I'd pumped it into the coffee jar instead.

Then, instead of fishing out the gooey lump of ruined coffee and keeping the rest in the jar - I fucking stirred it!! Like it was going to unwind time or something. Even as I was stirring it there was a voice in my head saying 'Wtf are you doing!? Stop!!' as I peered in stirring progressively more rapidly.

I've also hulled strawberries and realised halfway through the punnet that at some point I had started chucking the berries and keeping the stalks.
