LinkedIn Recruiters do you reply/go through the process even if not interested?

I got approached by a recruiter for the same role I'm doing ATM. I'm quite happy so wouldn't leave, but I'm thinking of going through the motions just to know what's our there and benchmark my current salary? Or is this just a massive waste of time for everyone involved?

I get the odd LinekdIn recruiting e-mail/invitation. I strongly suspect the recruiters want to tap into my network. On the odd occasion I have had contact with them/accepted an invitation, I generally give them 24 hours and then remove them again.
Luckily for me, I have never had to trawl LinkedIn looking for a project as I am usually approached by contacts directly.
