Do you use an empty pram to go shopping?

I used to live in France and having a two wheel shopping trolley was the norm.

Have barely seen anyone use one here but I have noticed a lot of people seem to use empty baby prams.

Do you?

Sometimes yes but it's because we don't drive and so struggle back with shopping for 4 kids and 2 adults. I've not seen anyone else do it but if it helps, who cares?

I went to IKEA on the Tube carrying a McLaren Volo with a back strap and used it to bring back a huge mirrored cabinet. DC are 19 and 17.

(we still have the McLaren to take the cats to the vet)

Sounds really handy
Had never thought of it for carrying pets. That's clever

Do you mean what is sometimes called a 'granny' shopping trolley. Where I live (London) absolutely loads of people use them. They are kinda a standard thing that people have.

I love this @YesThisIsMe, I have visions of cats in baby bonnets in an old fashioned carriage pram 😂

Adorable (if mad-looking) as that would be, I'm afraid I actually meant a cat box wedged into a stroller.

Loads of people use shopping trolleys where I am. Only on mumsnet do they have a "granny" reputation. bizzare.

HippyChickMama · 16/06/2022 17:16

@YesThisIsMe disappointing but probably for the best. I like having skin on my hands and forearms far too much to even attempt putting any item of clothing on my two

The trolleys that the French use are great. I have one even though DD2 calls them old ladies trolleys 😀

minipie · 16/06/2022 17:17

My 23 yr old neighbour has a granny trolley and loves it! I am very tempted to get one.

LondonQueen · 16/06/2022 17:18

No I use the supermarket trolley and take it to my car. The Pram is for the baby or sometimes dog!

I suggested that MIL got one of those trolleys as she was struggling to carry her monthly bread order from the bakers back to the car park. She outright refused to have one as she said they were for old ladies. She was 92 at the time - now 94.
