Pain in right side - gallbladder op last year

I had my gallbladder out last year, and recently have had some upper right abdo pain over where my gallbladder was/liver is. It’s a grumbling pain that comes and goes. Also some loose bowel movements, seemingly at random.

Went to Doc last month who requested an ultrasound and found no issues at site of gallbladder op, a slight fatty liver and mild elevated liver enzymes, which he said would normalise if I lost weight. Weight loss is a work in progress! Worried my misspent 20s drinking could have caused some damage to my liver but assuming that’s unlikely. Am now early 40s with 2 small kiddos.

Just wondering if anyone has had similar? Pain is still there. Not keen on going back to GP given the tests have been run. He suggested coming back in 6 months for another blood test so at least he isn’t bothered, I suppose.

Sorry, I'm going to be that poster. I'd push and go back. My DSIS had similar and it transpired she had pancreatic cancer. I had gallbladder issues earlier this year and really had to press my GP to investigate it after what my sister had experienced.

@Sixlittlenightmares thanks for the reply and sharing your experience. I hope your sister is doing ok.

Ask the doc to investigate sphincter of Oddi. Hope you get some answers soon.
