I'm posting on here for traffic
18 months ago I had breast cancer. I'm 62.
Got the all clear last autumn.
This morning I noticed that the aerola on the same breast has turned white
not the nipple. There is no pain or discharge.
Waiting for a call back from the breast care team.
Has anyone else had this symptom.

I had this a few years ago. I’d never been pregnant or breastfed. I had an X-ray not mammogram because of my age as the doctor was concerned it was Paget’s disease which is a type of breast cancer. X-ray came back all normal and I was advised it mist just have been hormones.

I hope it’s nothing serious for you.

So pleased that you were all good.

After I posted this morning I have been seen by my GP.
Who thought it was the cells dying after radiotherapy.
He was going to refer me back to my consultant.
3.30 this afternoon consultant called me back and said that
it was a side effect of the radiotherapy.
I have a face to face appointment with her on Monday afternoon.
How good is the NHS.

I’m so glad it’s not the cancer that’s come back. Glad you’ve had it all checked and I hope your health remains good.

The NHS is amazing. When it happened to me, I saw my GP on the Friday afternoon and I had my X-ray on the Tuesday. Couldn’t get any better than that.
