Can’t stand this pain any longer

I have endometriosis I’ve had numerous surgeries on many medications paid to see top specialist nothing has helped. I’m currently on morphine and codine and in bed crying as the pain is to much. My private specialist has suggested another surgery but it’s not a cure it can grow back and I can’t afford to go private. I’m waiting on the Nhs appointment again at the clinic but the waiting list is over 12 months just to be seen. I’m just so depressed because of it I went to a and e twice last month and while they where amazing they could only offer me a morphine drip. I also can’t afford not to work but it’s almost becoming in possible due to the fatigue and pain. I’m just at a loss my specialist has said there is nothing else they can do at the moment I’ve tried everything and all they can offer is the mixture of meds that I’m on.

No advice but my friend finds this group quite helpful for information and chats m.facebook.com/endometriosis.uk.org/photos/a.460262687366426/2804078249651513/

There's another endometriosis forum - endometriosis uk, which I think is fairly busy.

What treatment have you had so far? Repeated laps? Contraceptive pill? Is the pain cyclical or constant.

Flowers.

It's not the Facebook group, it's via the website, and is connected to something called health unlocked.

Poor you. Sounds horrible.

Nothing useful to add, but just wanted to say am really sorry you're having to deal with this.

Hope you can find some effective way of easing it soon.

I’ve had two laps and one other sugrery pain is constant on my period and I feel like I’m in constant agony. When I’m not on my period I have pain but it’s not as bad I’ve had so many pills and contraceptives due to my migraines I can’t take certain hormonal pills anyway

I agree with the suggestions of EndometriosisUK. They have a helpline and an online chat thing as well as the forum and Facebook page.

My advice is to a) ask for referral to a pain clinic and b) look at alternative pain relief options in the meantime to use alongside the meds. Things like a tens machine and acupuncture.

Jellybeans52 · 16/06/2022 10:08

Yes I’ve got a tens machine and have been to acupuncture the amount of money I’ve spent on all of this could be a deposit for a house and I’ve seen a pain management specialist
