letters for little people...

So I was thinking how everyone used to belong to Junior Puffins and get individual letters a few times a year, [long, long ago]like Emma Thompson did as a little girl. .
My six year old grandson was THRILLED to get a letter from the DVLA!
[It was a mistake, but he was SO excited]. Starry eyed!
Post is going the way of telephone boxes...we all text/email...
So has anyone got any suggestions for organisations a very nice six year old could join, with the added benefit of being interesting? [RSPB, for example? He loves trains, boats, planes, reading, history and gardening].
Any ideas very welcome!
Cheers,
Rosepoet...

Paddingtons postcards? It's a charity thing so pay monthly for unicef but get a map to follow where he's been , postcards with interesting facts about the country he's sending from, and activity to do each time in a journal.
My dd gets so excited about getting some post!
